Okay we're slowly and nonthreateningly approaching Froguske and the well.

Zelgadis offers his help if there's any need for it? If he isn't understood he tries to get close and point down the well with a questioning expression.

Frogsuke understands him, but doesn't know how to talk, so he mimics the act of pulling up the water from the well. Should he do it, he does get water but it's... salty??

And there's an even tinier frog inside that Frogsuke is happy to see.

He absolutely does it! Hm, seems like there might be more friends down there.

Zelgadis casts a levitation spell on whatever is down there to gently bring it/them up. He can carry several people easily so a bunch of frogs would be no problem, and also the water around them. This will not hurt the frogs at all.

He saves ten more frogs from the well. The croaks stop! Frogsuke is very pleased and rewards him with a Ninja Star before leaving with the tiny frogs (they're all his students).

ICly there's no explanation, but OOCly it should be noted that if Zelgadis sometime gets in trouble while he carries the Ninja Star with him, Frogsuke will shadow travel to him once to aid him before disappearing again after Zelgadis is definitely safe.

He assumes it's a gesture of gratitude so thanks Froguske!

Time to venture more into the forest.

There's a heavy mist settling into the forest.

Which direction would he like to go?

Veering South toward the mountains unless something catches his eye.

There's nothing too eye catching in other directions, other than shapes of spirit animals walking through the mist. Journey towards the mountains should be eventless in this part of the forest.

There are plenty of forest sounds nearby, but once he gets near enough to the mountain, all sound stops. Even if he was to speak, he wouldn't hear anything.

Interesting. And unnerving, but he'll tolerate it for now. Can he see anything worth exploring? A cave or whatnot? Perhaps a sign that says "rare curses cured here"?

There is nothing worth exploring on this side of the mountain. Just some clear mountain streams with the purest of water. Even the stream doesn't make a sound, however.

He will collect some water if possible, since that's always a good thing to re-up.

And let's fly low over the silent mountains for a while to see if there's anything worth landing to look at. He's not trying to stay that long, so best to speedrun the thing (he can fly at say 3x human jogging speed).

He can definitely get some water. It has minor energy properties, so he should feel rather energetic when he drinks it.

This part of the silent mountains is truly a boring place to look at. There's just mountains and forest as far as eye can see.

Mmkay. Then he'll keep heading south toward the cave-looking thing at the southern tip of the forest, unless something else is notable from the air (he's not flying that high because he's looking for things).

Flying near the mountain runs a risk of bumping into the most dangerous creatures of the Autumn Segment called Witch/Wizard Crows.

Eagle-sized magical crows that usually stay in the Forest of Courage or the Silent Mountains. They can use magic (mostly to create projectiles to shoot things or illusions to confuse people) and because of their high intelligence they also mimic human speech. They love anything that shines and will attempt to steal it, even if it means they're going to have to murder to get it. Sometimes they murder just because someone stepped on their favorite branch. They're moody and very dangerous.

As they are affected by the dark energy that affect the segments, they will amplify the effect of interfering with otherworldly powers, making them less likely to work. They won't outright attack unless he's carrying something shiny, but they are also very moody and might make illusions to make him think he's in crave danger.

Due to being close to the mountain, they also don't make any sounds.


Please note that they can be avoided, should you want to, but the route to the cave on silent mountains would require camping at least one night, even while taking the flying route.
