The left path is relatively normal at first, but longer you walk it the more traps there are. Pitfalls with spiky bamboo, cages made from bamboo falling down on the party, trap wires that send out arrows made with bamboo etc. However, should the make it past, there will be a treasure box at the end of the left path.

It looks like a normal treasure box, but looks can be deceiving.

So Theo and his + 1 human - Squall so far - are immediately suspicious of this treasure box in the middle of nowhere.

Theo is all about "1000 gil says it is a mimic"

While they are debating over whether or not to actually open it? Looks like his chocobo is going to make up their minds for them.

Quito is going to go over and peck at the chest in an attempt to open it.

Chocobo peck is enough to open the chest! And in the chest they find...

A bag of five magical beans (when planted they grow vines long enough to be used as a bridge over rivers or canyons)
Five golden tree branches (light magic can be detected from them. They can be used to build a barrier around a campsite)
Cursed doll (looks like a perfectly normal doll, but will attempt murder when whoever is in possession of it is asleep)

The travelers are free to take or leave any of the loot.

Squall obtains 5 magical beans and a cursed doll. Theo receives 5 golden tree branches

Other than that, this path is a dead end. When they decide to go back, they will notice the right and middle path are temporary blocked off for now. It seems only one path can be chosen at a time.
