Vegetable Monsters don't understand any language and are, in fact, mute themselves. They can be communicated with gestures and they do their best to inform them that as long as they don't plan on eating them (they will even use a rake to demonstrate a fork!!) they are free to take a look around. They are clever in the ways of gesture communicating and will inform they only attack people in the fear of being eaten (with the help of onions helping them make sniffly).

Should they then explore the farm, they will find a lot of vegetable seeds wrapped in leaves waiting for a good time to be planted and some large rice bags that they have no use for and will offer to their new guests.

But also an entrance to a cellar that is fiercely protected by sentient corn.

...INCREDIBLY curious about the cellar, gotta admit.

Yuri's happy to take the rice off their hands, especially if it seems like they're trying to give it as, like, a peace offering?

He will attempt to mime going down into the cellar, then shrugging hopefully?

Assuming the answer to 'can we go down' is no, but trying to ask so that maybe the veggies will in turn mime some sort of thing they'd like in exchange, or... danger... or?

The rice bags are definitely a peace offering... or maybe a bribe to tell others not to come eat them at the farm.

The sentient corn mime that it's too dangerous to go down and will not allow the party to proceed. If any of the party can sense danger, there is definitely something about the cellar door that makes one shiver about it.

Hmmmm.

What if Yuri mimes fighting? He has a sword, he's tough, he can get rid of whatever's in the cellar for you maybe!

Especially with Repede and Saya there to help.

(Saya probably CAN sense danger — I'll double check — and it might make Repede growl-y. But Yuri is undaunted.)

Update: confirmed that Saya has the same kind of Because Predator danger sense. Like a big cat.

The sentient corn are positive that this takes more than just their abilities and will not change their minds no matter what. They have whatever it is under control for now.

We will attempt to mime leaving and coming back with reinforcements.
