The four power holders

The last remaining native power holders. Their connection to nature and magic itself is extremely strong, which is one of the theories why they're the only ones who remained with power. The four are responsible for the barrier protecting Ellipsa from the Darkness. Each of them are managers of the Seasonal Guilds that used to serve all native power holders and are now remodeled to help Otherworlders with their mission.

Olwen, the kindness of winter

Olwen was born during a strong blizzard in a cabin that was located in the middle of the Winter Segment. Many think this is why he's adapted to his powers at a young age. He has been the leader of the Winter Guild even before the tragedy happened. He's always been known to be serious and very responsible, yet kind and caring.

He's calm, wise and doesn't get angry very often - but when he does he's icy and glares icicles at people (not literally). He wants people to think about their limits and be prepared as much as they can before venturing out into the danger. That's why he's always ready to answer anyone's questions - no matter what powers they have.

Olwen is usually the one people call a leader whenever they need someone to make decisions.

Jade, the energy of spring

Jade was born in the eye of a hurricane in the Spring Segment, where her parents used to live. It's for this reason that people believe she can fly almost as if she wasn't using her powers and create things with ease. Her powers have always been strong and looked like they were a second nature to her.

Due to her powers coming to her naturally, it's hard to keep a track of Jade as she bounces to different places. She's naturally hyperactive and always talking anyone's ears off. Of course when the situation calls for it she's composed and calm, but otherwise she's not above adding her own comments to any situation. Usually she speaks in puns and makes jokes. She does, however, get upset anytime someone tells her to shut up and may sulk for days.

Dawn, the shapeshifter of summer

Dawn was born during the hottest day in years, in the district of Solarpeak. Due to the scorching hot circumstances, people believe this is the reason she's one of the final power holders and a natural at any powers involving heat. She tends to change her look a lot as she doesn't want to get bored of the same look (usually she mostly changes her eye or hair color).

As the constant need to change her appearance might suggest, Dawn gets bored easily. That's why she's always trying to find fun ways to make a day more interesting and is usually in charge of planning any bigger parties Ellipsa may have. When she gets angry she can stay angry for a long time, but she never gets violent with anyone. Mostly she isolates herself from the things that made her angry and does anything else. Her main motto is that anger should always be channeled into doing something good, rather than evil.

Sawyer, the brat of autumn

Sawyer was born in the middle of an autumn storm that affected even his home district; Amberfall. Many suspect that's why he became known as a genius in the seasonal power arts. Unfortunately he always used his powers for pranks, rather than anything useful. He refused to take any responsibility until it was discovered that he really was one of the last ones with powers. Even then he isn't very co-operative and often stays hidden in his office at the Autumn Guild.

He's moody and tends to love to do things if there's a chance to cause chaos. He's not necessary a bad guy, but a bit a problematic and definitely someone who doesn't offer help easily. He's also keen on letting people take risks when exploring the the Segments because he believes taking risks is part of life... but also because he likes to see people fail.

People who are in charge of and help with Nightwake matters, or just very known figures.

Michael, The Mayor of Nightwake

Michael is in charge of the Nightwake Center District and is also the head of all apartments there. He's only been a Mayor for a year, but he's already made good changes for Nightwake's residents. Mostly he's made sure everyone has easy access to transportation and getting suitable housing for themselves.

As a person he's calm and level headed. He only talks whenever it's necessary. Usually when someone is needed to calm a situation, Michael is called in to make the announcement. No one really knows what he's like outside work because he likes to keep to himself.

Helene, Head of the Research Center

Outstanding leader of the Research Center. Helene is highly educated in the ways of technology and all sorts of chemistry. While her understanding of magic is lacking she has plenty of staff to help her out in combining magic and technology. Her hobby outside important jobs is to study potions and find ways to replicate their effects in medicine.

Helene may seem strict, but under her rough exterior she's more like a mother hen who worries about her subordinates and Otherworlders alike. All the decisions she makes are for the good of everyone. She also likes to have as much fun as she can.

Harrison, the Head of the Law Enforcement

A long time ago Harrison proved to Ellipsa that he doesn't need to be a power holder to be in charge of the law. His greatest achievement was arresting a good sized group of power holders who planned to go against the law and started absorbing other holders' powers. Instead of any magic available, he relies on technology and his own wits.

Harrison is a strict person and doesn't like people who bend or break the rules. He always looks serious and the smiles he offers are for those who he truly thinks have done a good job. He's not a bad person and has a soft spot for small children as he sees them as the future.

Starlight, The Social Media Star

A mysterious celebrity who has never revealed her true name to the public. Starlight can be seen on many ads, commercials and her Ellipsagram account is the hottest account to follow. She makes important announcements, but also posts a lot of memes and filters for others to use. She shines like a star, hence her stage name.

No one knows a lot about her outside social media. She never hosts public meetings and mostly sticks to Ellipsagram lives and stories. Her public persona is cheerful and always seems like she's having fun. All of her smiles are always genuine and whenever she's feeling down she doesn't take photos or videos of herself to keep it that way.

Riki, the Idol of rewards

A merchant by day, an idol by night. Riki is the one who manages the store where Otherworlders can get useful items to help with their journeys. He rarely appears there as more than a hologram as he's busy writing songs, being a model and performing in all sorts of places.

Riki is always cheerful and willing to help people when he has a chance. He has an active imagination so he's usually the one coming up with items - or at least giving ideas to people in charge of making them. No one's ever seen him sad or angry in public, but sometimes his smile isn't so genuine... or so some say.

Lara, The Fairy Queen

The leader of all fairies who holds one of the keys in fighting against the Darkness. She's young for a fairy, but she takes her responsibilities seriously and with grace. Currently she's in need of a lot of time to recover from being kidnapped by the "Wizard".

Lara gives off a gentle, motherly aura, but she does have a playful side to her like most of the fairies do. As the Queen she's the same size as humans, but can transform into a smaller form when necessary. She always has a set of fairy wings on her back.

Those who dwell in the ocean.

Kali, The Mermaid Queen

The young leader of all mermaids living in the Mermaid Kingdom. It's said her voice can even bring the coldest of souls into tears. She's kind and gentle unless her people are threatened.

Due to the huge amount of mermaids, Kali is usually very busy, but she does attempt to make time to talk to any visitors in the kingdom. She's working on building good relationships with the sirens tirelessly.

Makai, The Siren King

The leader of most sirens, at least those who reside in the Siren Kingdom. It's said his voice can bring even the brightest and happiest person to their knees. Makai is calm and usually level-headed, but he does get angry over false accusations against sirens.

Makai is old and tends to favor riddles when talking to people, unless it's actually something serious they need to discuss. Usually he likes to stay in his own quarters to meditate, but he isn't afraid to spring into action.

Rulers of the skies.

Opallios, the Dragon Lord

A giant white dragon with golden markings and green eyes.

Lord of the Dragons, one of the oldest of his kind. Opallios is a kind leader who often checks in on his people to make sure everyone is doing alright. He was trapped with his kin in the Frozen Falls, but now that they're free he plans on helping Ellipsa to his best abilities.

His powers are being able to purify darkness corruption and being immune to it. He doesn't possess any elemental abilities like most dragons do.

Opallios never lies.

Einnainth, the Dragon Lord's Proxy

A medium-sized ivory colored dragon with bright blue eyes.

A younger dragon who works as a proxy for Opallios whenever he needs to deliver a message to people in the city. Einnainth is a very curious and cheerful dragon, but he tends to be calmer whenever he's on actual duty. It's rare to see him upset.

Einnainth controls water as his element, as he originates from the Winter skies.

Virion, the Elven prince

A handsome black haired elf with piercing teal eyes.

The Crown Prince of the Elven Kingdom, Virion is currently the only known survivor of the great tragedy that struck. He spent over a decade in a prison under the Survival Fortress, seeing many of his kin (and others) die before him, but still kept his sanity, hoping that one day someone would come for him.

Luckily, a group of explorers were able to find and free him.

Herakles, the resilient one

A stoic man with a lot of muscles and eyes that tell of sorrow.

Herakles is a former villain now working on stopping his ex-colleagues. He comes from a world inside a portal dimension that was destroyed by an unnatural natural disaster. He's being corrupted by darkness "gifted" to him by The Pierrot. He's silent and serious, but seems to be soft around cats in particular.

He has the ability to make powerful enchantments and illusions, but also has twelve lifes. An unknown number of them have already been used.

Handwaved NPC Meetings

Here's where you have your chance to interact with the NPCs. This meeting will be discussed in the threads below and handwaved as an interaction. We will answer any questions and give you any reactions they might have to your character.

Please limit the handwaved meetings to more "important" questions and use your imagination for general discussions with the characters, using the blurbs of the characters above and below.

Your character doesn't need to be associated with the season when meeting a NPC Seasonal Power Holder.


Threading with the NPCs may become available in the future, but for now this is easier on the mods to handle.

Olwen

Usual location: Winter Guild in Frostreign

Olwen is talkative and will stick around to talk with anyone who wants to. He will answer any simple questions easily and even make jokes.

Levi wants to know if they might allow some people to stay in Ellipsa even if "the situation becomes better", as Olwen had stated in his welcoming message. He won't be wordy about it but he'll state that there are those who have nothing to go back to because they're dead back home, and point out that it's shitty poor motivation to provide help for this world if their reward is to be sent off to die (again).

(It's a bluff, really, because they're going to help anyway, a whole world is more important than a few lives etc etc, but why not use a little threat/blackmail to encourage the desired answer?)

Any timing similarities with the arrival of his dear deceased friend are purely coincidental.

i'm back with more difficult questions--

After their deaths Kaveh and Ayato (accompanied by Alhaitham and Thoma) will visit Olwen to ask him a few things about what they saw/experienced. (around June 2nd)

First, if he knows what the creature trapped inside the abandoned mansion is? Ayato will share the video he recorded to help explain it, and if he knows what it is what can they do to get rid of it?

Second, the spirits have managed to seal it inside for now but it's spread to take over the size of the mansion pretty much - is there a way to ensure no one else can get in or out?

After his initial questions regarding the mansion are done, and Kaveh and Alhaitham leave, Ayato will have one more question for him regarding their returns to their worlds once they've helped this world - is it possible to be sent to a parallel universe of theirs and 'push' the other self to a different one? Or at least share the memories between both?

heyyy, so, definitely should've asked this during Event #1, but yeah, Shyness. Basically, Yuri would've had the same question as Levi. Can I assume he would've gotten the same answer?

some time after ayato's meeting with olwen (late june), his younger sister would schedule for a meeting with him (and helene, if that's possible) to ask more about this.

ayaka would share her own experiences of being in a world outside of her own, prior to here, to give context. and then she'd talk of her concerns.

1) would he have spoken to the researchers and other power holders by this time? is it possible to travel to a different world willingly and retain the memories made here?

2) what would it take for a dedicated group (small or big) of researchers to study this further? more specifically, what would she have to do in order for the research center to move on this?

Guess who’s back! (Have you missed him, Olwen?)

This time, Levi shows up with Hange in tow, who will hopefully step in to clarify after he spends a while explaining, in a very vague and roundabout way, that they have someone close to them slowly dying of a curse.

They want to know if there is anything that can be done about it, and where/who they should talk to if they’re hoping to find a cure or something that would stop the timer from ticking down.

Additionally, Hange wants to ask in particular whether anybody here has ever had a lethal curse or disease and then died, and whether it was back after being revived or if they no longer had it?

After the viral video went up Ayato will be trying to get in touch with Olwen to:

a) get a less anti-Sawyer biased opinion/feedback on what happened. He'll tell him he's heard from Hijikata what Dawn told him about suspicions the portals were done internally, but Ayato will also admit that while he isn't keen on Sawyer, he didn't get the impression it would be him. (Honestly he deals with cunning people all the time and he didn't get that vibe from him so it seems like he could be being used as a scapegoat, especially since the other power holders seem to be speaking up for him.)

b) asking if there's any way he can offer assistance. His personal biggest concern will be ensuring to reduce panic if people (locals and otherworlders alike) think a powerholder is abusing their position to harm people. He already knows people who don't trust them, and this situation will likely make it worse, so if there's anything he can do on the ground to make things smoother he'll do his best.

Earlier in the December month, Olwen will get a teenage visitor from syphilis land after denizens of Ellipsa are caught in in Eren's Path's trip, although the visit is unrelated.

He has an idea for people who transform into 'large creatures', as he puts it: he wants to know if it's possible to build an arena in one of the segments, that could withstand a ton of damage for people who might want to practice with said forms or 'let loose'. He's willing to help out if there's building or clearing out that needs to be done!

Jade

Jade will openly talk with anyone. She answers any simple questions eagerly and has the habit of getting easily off-topic and making puns about anything she can think of. She also laughs at even bad jokes.

The White Rabbit makes it a priority to find the guild leader of his season, Jade. He will make it known he wants to speak with her about the Survival Fortress and his idea to attempt Diplomacy with the demons and doppelgangers inside. He wants to see who he can save. Reduced forces of demons would also be beneficial to any attempt to secure the location as well.

Dawn

Dawn is eager to answer any simple questions, but usually doesn't stick around for too long to talk as she gets bored easily and needs to be doing something. She will definitely hear suggestions for parties though and encourage characters to make them happen.

Hijikata has gathered that Dawn has a reputation as a party girl with a short attention span, but she's his guild leader, so he wants to give her a fair chance instead of directly going to Olwen like everyone else!

He actually properly requests a meeting and, once they sit down for it, brings up some things that have been concerning him:

1) When exactly did the Tragedy of Greed occur? His understanding is that it happened a long time ago, and gradually, over generations, the power holders died out as a consequence of the imbalance it caused, and in parallel the Darkness encroached on the land more and more? Or is this wrong, and the event actually occurred during the lifetime of Dawn and her peers, and the other power holders died in quick succession?

2) Two serious incidents in recent months - the portals that appeared on the four bridges, leading to gardens full of monsters, and the memory portals in the aftermath of the mecha beta testing gone haywire - both featured portals. Hijikata has concerns that this might indicate an outside force of some kind interfering with Ellipsa. Who or what could it possibly be? He finds it noteworthy that the portals on the bridges apparently appeared at least once before the first otherworlders even arrived on Ellipsa.

What is Dawn's opinion on all that?

Sawyer

Sawyer is reluctant to answer even simple questions and will only give a short, quick reply to quickly get away. He doesn't stand small-talk so he will leave if someone tries to force that on him.

Ayato will have asked Harrison to let him visit while Sawyer is holing himself up while everyone goes after the culprit. He'll being a small hamper of fruit and sweets for him and to check he's alright.

He won't overstay his welcome, but will tell him if something like this happens again, to place more trust in those he's close to. People were worried about him etc etc.

Michael

Michael answers simple questions with ease and with replies that leave little room for wondering. He doesn't talk much else but is polite and remains questioned as long as someone seems to be curious about something.

After Event #14

With at least a half-dozen otherworlders having been turned into vampires while the city was cut off from the regular day-night cycle, Frieda requests to see Michael after his usual office hours due to being among the afflicted.

Once they meet, she thanks him for his time and explains that she'd like to request his assistance in improving the living population's coexistence with the vampires. She admits that while the success of the negotiations in the Great Ocean Lake which she helped facilitate made her hopeful, most of the vampires she spoke to dismissed her out of hand, having no interest in changing their predatory way of life. Even so, the newly turned ones in particular are interested in alternative ways of procuring blood... and that's where Michael comes in.

Frieda asks him for help with 1) establishing a volunteer program where living people can sign up as blood donors for vampires and 2) liaising with Nightwake's butchers to have blood bags (and perhaps other blood-based products) added their assortment of wares for vampires (or proxies) to purchase.

Helene

Usual location: Her office in the Research Center (Nightwake District)

Helene answers even the simplest questions with way too much information and details on the subject. She does, however, simplify whenever necessary and smiles with a kind smile as she does.

Kaveh and Alhaitham will be approaching the Research Center in search of jobs. They'll both introduce themselves as graduates of the Akademiya, the largest learning institute in their home world of Teyvat.

Alhaitham specifically mentions he's from the Darshan, or discipline, of Haravatat, which focuses on linguistics and rune studies. He has been working as a scribe for the Akademiya.

Kaveh will mention he's from the Darshan of Kshahrewar, which focuses on studying technology, and works as an architect.

If there are any further details the Research Center is interested in knowing, they would be willing to share for an equivalent exchange of information, but they are most interested in seeing if their details are suitable for any jobs here.

Harrison

Usual location: His office in the Law Enforcement Headquarters (Nightwake District)

Harrison replies to all questions with a serious and strict manner, not adding much humor or extra to anything. He also doesn't laugh at jokes. He doesn't really like being asked unnecessary/unimportant questions, but sometimes replies to them because he can.

Hijikata barely managed to enjoy this new world for a week before he got restless, and because he can't help being a cop he'll eventually end up in Harrison's office! He'll explain that he'd like to join Nightwake City's law enforcement since he feels that his skills would be best put to use there. Credentials:

1) He's been the Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi in Edo, Japan, planet Earth.
2) He's been with the Moon Knights in Lunatia, planet Prismatica.
3) He's been a Knight of the Round Table in Camelot, Avalon, planet... Earth..?

He'll gladly explain what each organisation is and does, give examples of his achievements, etc, but right away he'll realise that Harrison is very to-the-point and will only tell him what he actually asks about.

Starlight

Starlight's questions are full of emojis and she sometimes even asks the same questions back if she's curious about something. Generally she doesn't talk about her personal life at all and dodges the questions by asking questions in return.

Rumi, who will politely introduce herself the same way as she always does, is here to ask if Starlight would be fine with Rumi & Jinu starting a business called Starlight Music because, you know, it is the very polite thing to do when their business won't have anything to do with her. But the concept of starlight in nature / space is just way too tempting to skip/pass, so... Here she is, explaining that it'd at least start as a recording studio (and maybe recording label?) but who knows what else they could eventually do with it if they feel like it.

(Look, she's pretty new and she totally forgot that there is an NPC called Starlight when she got all into this whole idea of calling it that... (so did I and I'm supposed to play her smh) so here she is, asking questions. They could totally work together sometimes too or something if that helps with getting a yes to this.)

Riki

Usual locations: Concert Venue in Blossomcrown

Riki definitely likes to talk with various different people and answers questions with ease. He's especially knowledgeable with the entertainment industry and will talk about it more than enough.

He usually isn't at Riki's Rewards personally, even if he owns the place. He can, however, be met and talked with there on rare occasions. They say seeing him in the shop brings good luck.

At someone's suggestion, she'll let Riki know about the effects of using a Wishing Star to summon another person (namely that it got something that was Not Her Mom which then killed her) and suggest they have a warning in the shop that tells you not to do that.

-She isn't actually expecting him to care or agree to do anything, and if he expresses any kind of concern that she died because of one of his shop's products she will be visibly shocked, but hey. Someone said to tell him.

Lara [The Fairy Queen]

She's friendly and chatty and will even respond to some flirting. Usually in her regular, human-sized form but sometimes lurks in fairy size.

Kali [The Mermaid Queen]

Usual location: Mermaid Kingdom; can be contacted from guilds via seashell communicators

Kali is usually very busy, but does usually make sure he answers any and all calls. She will usually give the latest news about what's going on in the Mermaid Kingdom.

Makai [The Siren King]

Usual location: Siren Kingdom; can be contacted from guilds via seashell communicators

Makai tends to answer any questions in riddles, unless it's a very serious matter. He doesn't tolerate people calling for "no reason".

Opallios [The Dragon Lord]

Usual location: Dragon Sanctuary/Abandoned Castle in between the Autumn and Summer Segments

Opallios talks to people gladly and will share stories of the times when man and dragon fought together side by side. He also offers purification services.

Einnainth [The Dragon Lord's Proxy]

Usual location: Winter Segment or the Dragon Sanctuary/Abandoned Castle between the Autumn and Summer Segments

Einnainth gladly talks to people - especially children. Usually he talks about his latest (fish) catches or treasure he might have found. He also delivers messages to Opallios.

Virion [The Elven Prince]

Usual location: Coldreach, Stormreach, Nightwake Central

Virion is easily approachable, but he usually wants to talk about 'nonsense' things rather than anything actual going on with the world.

Levi spends a lot of time in Coldreach and he pretty much carried (no that was Eren) escorted the guy out of the fortress, so he'll definitely recognize him and come over to ask how he's doing.

He's not much for smalltalk but he'll do his best not to send him on an Unpleasant Memory Trip -- he might share some of (Erwin's) favorite book recommendations or give him some of the teas he's been working on to sample (maybe even invite him somewhere nice to do so, if he seems receptive to it, otherwise he'll just hand it over and ask for a review later). He might also ask if there's anything he'd like to be done for him. Once he's assured the guy is as well as can be expected in his circumstances, he'll leave him be.

Herakles [The Resilient One]

Herakles doesn't go out much and usually keeps to himself. He doesn't mind talking, however.

Chronos [The Dragon of Time]

Chronos is social and likes to talk with people. Despite his size he's very gentle and kind.
