NPC Businesses & Character Jobs

NPC BUSINESSES & CHARACTER JOBS
LOGS | NETWORK | OOC | MEMES | NAVIGATION
For character businesses, see this page.
Guild Adventurer jobs are listed on Guild page.
This page is meant for a general listing of NPC owned businesses and jobs there might be in the various districts of Nightwake. You can just submit general business names and purposes for this page just to know they exist or you can use this opportunity to "promote" a NPC business because your character works there.
There's a top-level for government jobs. Comment on the top level relevant to your character (and what department they work in for the Research Center one).
Comment here to submit a business in general!
Comment here to tell where your character works!
Those who aren't going to go for jobs, there's also a spot for Schools

Government Jobs
The Law Enforcement
The Law Enforcement Headquarters is located in Nightwake Center district, but there are smaller stations in every districts (that fit the theme of the district).
Uniforms
Casual uniform looks like this (either a short sleeve or a long sleeved version, can also have a skirt instead of pants), but this very uniform has the ability to transform into a suit developed by the Nightwake Researchers.
The suit has a built in connection for contacting the headquarters when necessary and also has a holographic map system. Protects the user from elemental magic, as most of the law enforcement cops are natives with no powers. The helmet goes into the suit. Also has neat little compartments for weapons or handcuffs. Suit also responds to the wearer's body for maximum protection.
Perks
Law Enforcement characters get a free airship licence course if they wish to get one (a driver's licence for airships, basically). They are also entitled to use any of the Law Enforcement's own vehicles (changes according to district).

Pretend it didn't take me two years to add this.
The Research Center
The Research Center is located in Nightwake Center district and it's also the same plays characters start their journeys in.
Uniforms
Research Center Employees don't require a uniform, but they are provided with equipment and safety gear depending on which department they belong to.
Perks
Research Center characters get a free monthly set of potions (1 medical potion that helps delay flu symptoms, 1 potion for motion sickness, 1 potion that acts like an energy drink, 1 potion that upgrades strength and defense for three hours) and access to new technology. They also get a free traveling pass to use on airship busses/taxis for quicker traveling between home and work.

District: Amberfall
Description: A coffee shop with a relaxed atmosphere and a witty name. Has an open board game/card game night on Fridays.
no subject
District: Nightwake
Description: A claw machine arcade with all kinds of games to try and win things, from your average UFO-catcher to takoyaki style, string cutter, and that one machine where you get a ticket and have a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning a game console and will probably just get earplugs or sticky notes instead. The regular machine's prizes are anything you find in a claw machine arcade, like plushies, prize figures, packaged snacks, and sometimes weird stuff like a potato peeler or rubber slippers shaped like lobsters.

District: Winter
Description: A clinic that features natural medicine/healing techniques (some of which are based on ancient Chinese Cultivation) for those who want a different approach to illness/their well-being.
no subject
District: Amberfall
Description: A bookstore, cafe combination. Typical of Amberfall there's a magical twist. Sound dampening magic for their booths and tables ensures that guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere even when the bookshop is at its busiest.

Character Jobs
Feel free to link the business they work for from the toplevel above, if it exists there. You can also say character businesses in this thread if you wish, as long as you link to their info!
Guild Adventurers have their own page and don't belong under this comment.

Job: Part-time shelver at the Library

Job: Idol
District: Agency is in Blossomcrown, otherwise anywhere
Other notes: Currently working for an unnamed idol agency.

Job: Library Aide
District: Amberfall
Other notes: He's mostly using the job as an excuse to spend more time learning about this world through the texts. He deals with inventory, classification, ordering and any other behind-the-scenes task that minimizes his need for customer service. :/
Re: Character Jobs
Job: Delivery Boy
District: Anywhere - Mostly Nightwake City
Other notes: He'll deliver anything really.
Re: Character Jobs
Job: Assistant Manager at Plot & Patisserie
District: Blossomcrown
Other notes:
Plot & Patisserie is a quirky, plant-filled coffee shop and reading cafe in Blossomcrown. They've got everything you might want, from sandwiches and soup-filled bread-bowls to sweet cinnamon rolls, pastries, cookies, brownies, cakes and muffins … and, of course, a full range of delicious drinks. There are tons of books to peruse, too, if that's your speed — customers are welcome to grab something to read, with the option to borrow books library-style if they sign up to the Loyalty Schemers Club (up 3 books a week and points earned towards discounts and freebies!).
The cosy vibes carry through into the small, high-walled courtyard out back, with lanterns, fairy lights, and patio heaters a-plenty! Seating options out there include regular tables and chairs, couches in sheltered nooks, and hanging baskets with blankets and cushions.
Korone's a regular behind the counter ... and in front of the counter ... and behind the scenes.
MORE INFO COMING SOON I'm writing up a proper post ✨

Job: no official title but "informant" just about does it
District: He'll come to you
Other notes: He's the guy you go to if you want information. Doesn't matter who or what, he'll get it if it's not already at his disposal. He's got a very keen knowledge of the local law enforcement as well as the shadier sorts in the city. For the right price he might even be convinced to help "solve" some problems.
Somehow he seems to do this my mostly legal means, and trying to prove otherwise would be more trouble than it's worth.

Job: Combat Instructor
District: Dayrise
Other notes: He is that harsh teacher type. No nonsense. But damn if he isn't good at his job.
Life of Crime
Crimes such as theft will be punished with community work (picking trash, doing jobs no one else wants to do, etc).
Physical violence results into jail time and mandatory anger management therapy.
Anything worse that that should be discussed with the mods in Harrison's NPC threads.
