Arrival

ARRIVAL
LOGS | NETWORK | OOC | MEMES | NAVIGATION

Your character arrives in an unknown space, dressed in plain white clothes. It's the rebirth into a new adventure, so they're dressed for the occasion. The place they wake up in depends on the season they've been assigned into.

Winter - an empty landscape filled with snow and ice, almost like a blank canvas.
Spring - a field with cherry blossom trees and spring flowers.
Summer - a beach near an ocean that seems never ending.
Autumn - a clearing in a forest that's been filled with falling autumn leaves.

All of the spaces seem to continue endlessly. No matter where or how far one walks it almost seems like they're not moving at all with how the scenery doesn't change. There are no animals here - just everyone else, who happened to wake up there at the same time with you.

The place, however, somehow feels familiar. Like somehow they belong here.

After half an hour has passed the surroundings change as everyone is teleported into a room with all the other new arrivals, no matter what space they woke up in. Sometimes it's even entirely possible to arrive alone, depending on what time of the month one ('s app) arrives in. There is always a random NPC on watch duty to greet anyone who arrives.

In the room you teleported into your character will finally hear the story of why they are here and finally get to start their new journey.

Welcome to Ellipsa

The following information is shared from the get go:

  • A message from the power holders

  • The world of Ellipsa is in trouble and everyone has been called over to help restore the balance to it.

  • No one has been chosen for a specific reason. It was a random choice by the magics at hand. They are, however, promised that once the world is in better shape they'll be sent home.

  • Everyone has been assigned a season which corresponds to the place they woke up in. They will start learning new powers on top of their natural ones.

  • Seasonal powers won't interfere with anyone's normal powers or the other way around. Powers are linked to a magical energy flowing inside of characters. This energy is harmless, but act as a lifeline for their seasonal powers.

  • Physical touch is needed to remain anchored to the world. That means everyone needs to touch other otherworlders at least once a week to stay healthy. However, the more you touch each other, the more you remain in control of your new powers.

  • An assortment of their personal items (this includes their clothes) have been transported to an apartment they can stay until they find a suitable place to live.

  • Any animal companions will also be found from the apartment. However, animal companions that are "mount-sized" can be found from the Research Center stables downstairs. Anyone who wants an accessory, that helps the mounts to be smaller indoors so they can live there with their partners, is given one.

  • For the first two months they can live anywhere rent-free and five meals a day are paid for them. After that they get a monthly payment that helps with some of their living expenses, but otherwise they must get a job to support themselves.

  • Everyone is free to live wherever they want, even to go as far as to camp in one of the Seasonal Segments - but they are warned that those places are dangerous and those places also need their help the most.

At the end of the explanation your character is given a smartphone with all the necessary apps downloaded into it. It also includes a map of The Nightwake City and an explanation about the Seasonal Segments. The phone also comes with a phone charm that has a live flower (magical, doesn't die) on it that will represent your character (can be anything, decided by the player). This is considered a lucky charm and it can be changed into something other than a phone charm if so desired.

After that they are encouraged to go out, explore the city, and find the apartment assigned for them in the building next to the facility to find their belongings.

Helpful Information

In the Arrival's hall there are also several stands with information pamphlets.

First type of stand is for the local Guilds and about the benefits or joining one.

Second type of stands is for the Welcoming Committee that aim to show otherworlders what the world is like and help guide people in the beginning of the journey and helps in getting settled into the new world. They even have people to help if you're unfamiliar with the new phones.
