Monster Forms (Unlocked June 2023)

Anyone who wants can receive Monster Form Activators anytime visiting the Underground Mall. A criminal organization (The "Hearts" Group) runs experiments there and occasionally adds doses of the medicine in freebies, restaurant meals or even the vending machines. There's also the chance to get caught in their experiments by losing at the Casino.

Monster Form Activators will awaken a monster form inside a character that will trigger under one of the (player) selected conditions: strong emotional reaction, full moon, near death situation or bleeding.

The form can be returned from by calming down and focusing on their sense of self (unless the trigger is full moon), but there's a chance to go berserk, making this difficult. If characters go berserk, their powers will be a lot stronger, but they won't know who's a friend and who's a foe. Their form may also be a lot scarier than it normally is. They will likely only want to cause destruction around them or want to feed on humans.

Down the line they can start learning how to trigger it with their mind, but the original trigger itself would still remain. So they would have two different ways of transformation. This would require at least a three months between getting the medicine and then to succeed.

MonsterDescriptionPowers
AlraunePlant monsters with a humanoid shape. They may have changes as simple as flowers growing in their hair or have complex body modifications such as roots for legs and long vines as hands.Pollen with status effects like sleep/poison/paralysis, control over plants, poisonous kisses, etc
GargoyleMonstrous humanoid winged creatures with horns on their head and stony hides.Super strength, tough skin, flight
HarpyHuman-bird hybrids. Anything part can be replaced with bird bodyparts, although the most common configuration is arms turned to wings and legs into talons.Flight, sonic scream, hypnotizing voice, ability to whip up whirlwinds
KelpieAquatic horses with a man made of seaweed and algae, covered in a sticky fur that makes it nearly impossible to get off if one is to ride them. Some may get a fish tail when underwater, although when out of water they have legs like any horse.Water breathing, illusions
LichUndead humanoids, they may look skeletal or simply corpselike.Raising the dead (into zombies/skeletons), necrotic touch
ManticoreBeastlike creatures with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion or dragon. They vary greatly, some sporting horns on their heads, or resembling a Chimera or Sphinx.Super strength, flight if wings.
MinotaurAnimalistic monsters with the head of a bull and the body of a human, although some variations exist in which there are different animal heads. Some sport hooves and a tail in place of legs. Super strength, overall size, super defense.
TaurThis refers to any number of creatures with a humanoid upper body and a lower body that resembles a non-anthropomorphic animal in the same sort of style as a centaur. This category includes things like Arachne and Naga, and other variations of such monsters.Varies depending on animal the taur is based on
WerecreaturesMonstrous, bipedal animals, the transformation of which is often (but not always) triggered by the full moon. Common variants are wolves and bears, although they can be about any animal. The Pooka would be one of the variations in the werecreature category.Depends on the animal the form is based on, but usually super strong/fast etc

This effect can either be permanent or temporary, depending on how the players want it. Temporary can be up to just one transformation under the conditions or several.

Pokémon (Unlocked June 2023)

Underground Mall has a Poké Ball Vending Machine, so anyone who recognizes poké balls may have some idea what they could get here. The vending machine somehow has enough balls for everyone in Ellipsa but everyone can only buy one ball. The balls don't have names in them and no one can see through them, so even those who know Pokémon will NOT know what they'll be getting from this vending machine as it is entirely randomized!

Current Selection
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Rowlet, Litten, Poplio, Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, Spirigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly.

(ICly it is entirely randomized but OOCly you can decide which one you want your character to get. Of course you can rng the result too.)

Starting from April 19th (2024) onwards, characters may find a peculiar basket on their table. This basket comes with any kind of pokeball (except Master Ball), some Pokémon Food and Treats, and a Pokémon Egg of any species that can have an egg (except the rare mythical/legendary/special ones that are able to). This Pokémon also has a chance to be shiny.

The note attached to the basket says "Sounds can be heard coming from inside! This Egg will hatch soon!" The egg will hatch anywhere between a few minutes to few days.

Anyone asking about how this came to be, the research center staff explains that it was a "metaverse miracle" and they asked the fairies to help them contribute the eggs to otherworlders, seeing as they already had Pokémon experience.

General Pokémon Guidelines
• Anything mind-blowing crazy that the pokedex has to offer for any of the evolutions doesn't carry over to Seasons. They're closer to anime variants where people can get flamethrower at their face and live (we still do not recommend getting a flamethrower at face)
• Pokémon gain experience points much slower, even if they battle one another.
• The first evolution would be at the earliest timing of month from acquiring the pokemon. The second evolution phase a little longer, but only like a weeks longer or so (so 5 weeks from evolving the first time).
• You may be able to find a vending machine with weird stones mixed in for stone evolutions.
• All start at level 5.
New In the Pokémon Dimension, levels vary a lot.

OOC explanation for the Pokémon appearing in the world is Good Old Wonder Trade Glitches. ICly no one really knows! It's a big mystery.

Soul/Trust Weapons (Unlocked September 2023)

Swords in Stones have been set up at the backyard of each of the Guilds.

The goal is to partner up with someone they absolutely trust and pull the sword out of the stone. After that the sword disappears and the essence of it transports into one of them. The teachers explain that their bond and the sword's magic now enable them to form a magical bond weapon.

The person who received the essence is now a "Vessel" while the other is a "Wielder" (a decision between players which is which). The wielder will be able to pull a weapon out of the vessel. This progress doesn't hurt the vessel at all; but they might feel a little "out of it" for a moment. The magical bond weapon fits the wielder perfectly (any weapon - firearms have infinite ammo) and cannot be broken or wielded by other people. It's more powerful than normal weapons. They disappear after the battle the weapon was summoned to is finished. The only way for the weapon to fail is if the vessel is somehow critically hurt or knocked unconscious.

The bond between the two of them will remain in existence as long as the trust remains. If either side loses their trust for the other, the connection will flicker out of existence and feel like a sting in their chest.

Those who are as close as "soulmates" will be able to feel if their partner is in danger or approx. where they are. Otherwise the bondmates will feel warm feelings when close to each other.

Elemental Weapons (Unlocked September 2023)

A ribbon stick (in various colors and designs) that they can use in fights. The element used by the ribbon is not tied to the user's Seasonal element, but to the element that resonates the most OR the least with their soul. This element can be water, wind, fire, earth, electricity, ice, darkness or light.

Wave the ribbon towards the target and the element comes out shooting like beams or balls, depending on the movement of their body. If the ribbon is thrown up, the element will rain down on a single enemy - if thrown down it will spread the element across the ground.

These weapons are available in all of the guild buildings.

Magical Tattoos (Unlocked January 2024)

These tattoos are permanent by default, but they can also be temporary should the person wish so. Temporary tattoos will wear out in a month (or earlier, if the tattoo is in constant use). The designs and where it will be placed are up to characters to decide.

The basic effect of the tattoo is simple: seasonal powers stronger against the dark energy, meaning everyone will be able to fight creatures coated in it easier. That is, however, not the only effect; two more effects can be chosen when the tattoo is made, from a pool of choices provided.

Tattoo extra effects
• Danger Sense (gives an ability to sense danger in the surroundings)
• Door Creation (lets the user create a temporary fake door to pass through walls and other obstacles)
• Elemental Resistance (one element) (can be chosen twice)
• Enhanced Sense (choose one of the basic senses) (can be chosen twice)
• Guardian Spirit (summons an astral being to physically protect them, in the shape of something important to them - stays for an hour per summon)
• Mermaid Song (gives an ability to be able to heal minor injuries with singing)
• Minor Regeneration Powers (automatically heal minor injuries)
• New Element creation and manipulation (choose from electricity, light, neutral) (can be chosen twice)
• Retrocognition (able to see an item's past by touching it (does not work on living things))
• X-Ray Vision (lets user see through walls and other objects by touching them (does not work on living things))

All extra effects of the tattoo drain magical energy just like any other abilities do. If someone is low on magical powers, the tattoo will look like it's faded out (animal based tattoos may even start sleeping). No one automatically masters these abilities, so it might take some time to get used to them and properly use them in a fight.

These tattoos are made in Amberfall. The limit is one permanent tattoo per person. You can get temporary ones (one at a time) at any time, as long as you don't have a permanent one.

For the tattoos, since they're already magical in nature are we allowed to play around with their appearance and visibility beyond being low on magical energy?
  • Do they use specific runes/characters/symbols?
  • Can they glow when activated, but glow dimmer when magic energy is low, and be invisible or skin tone the rest of the time?
  • Can one tattoo be spread across two parts of the body at once, like sleeve tattoos on both arms or legs for example?
  • Is the process for getting them just as painful as real tattoos or is it reduced at all because magic?

    And unrelated to the above:
  • If a character already has magical tattoos from their canon, are they still allowed to get one in game?
