You're good to go! The Law Enforcement will definitely have choice words for this, and if you want to we can discuss how he and Harrison interact afterwards.

As for testing the weapon, he can of course attempt it on Darkness-corrupted monsters, but the barrier would stop him from testing it on anything further. Which is to say his weapon will likely have a good effect on the monsters, at least.
