Powers

POWERS

Basics
All of the powers that can be learned can be viewed on this page. All of the basic skills (such as Elemental and Others (Basic)) can be learned at any pace and in any order the players want their character to learn them in. The Guilds have full lists of the abilities that can be unlocked so seeing something that interests them and focusing on that is totally possible.
Every character learns at different speeds, though, so there's really no set "You should have learned x amount of abilities by this time" in place. Have fun! Develop your characters' abilities how you feel most comfortable with! We only ask that no one automatically insta-learn everything, no matter how good they are in magic otherwise and take their time enjoying their characters learning new skills.
Elements
Every season has its own element and a set of powers. However, the other elements are eventually learned in a cycle (creation and manipulation only).
Once all elements are unlocked in said cycle, characters can learn one additional elemental ability of all of the other elements (for ex. "Flight" from Wind or "Lava" from Fire).
A character can only learn new elements once all their original powers' abilities have been learned (including the non-elemental ones).
The cycles:
Winter: Wind -> Fire -> Earth
Spring: Fire -> Earth -> Water
Summer: Earth -> Water -> Wind
Autumn: Water -> Wind -> Fire
Advanced means skills that you can start learning after being three months in the game. After learning the first you can learn a new skill every other month. Take slightly more energy than the basic ones. (Adv. Elemental is included in these!)
Highly Advanced means skills that you start learning after over half of the Advanced skills have been learned. These skills also take a lot more energy the basic ones. Learned every other month as well.
Magical Energy
All of the powers use a certain type of magical energy inside of a character that gets added as they enter the game. This power is different from anything they might have had before and doesn't get affected by characters' natural powers. The mechanic of "touch" is what can balance this energy and give it more strength. It can also restore it in small amounts, but eating and resting will restore it to full a lot quicker. Characters can run out of the energy while using their powers, making them powerless or dependent on their own canon abilities.
Magical energy ≠ Touch energy. Touch energy can help restore and strengthen magical one slightly, but losing one's magical energy does not turn someone into stone. Being low on magical energy does make characters feel temporary tired, but that feeling passes over time, unlike with touch energy where you need to touch someone to start feeling more energetic again.
Emotions
Each Season has a set of emotions that make their powers stronger. They're especially powerful if they're genuine and not "acted" but even acting works as a booster when needed.

Mist | Turn water in the air into a vision obscuring mist. Can also be used as a way to make rooms damper where necessary. Mist usually remains cool in temperature. | |

Redirect Moonlight | Use existing moonlight and direct it to places where the moonlight doesn't reach. Great for blinding enemies or increasing the light amount around the area. | |
Repair Items | Repairs items without needing extra tools. Gets more powerful over practice, but the limit will always be repairing a full dining table from scratch. Works less well on materials that are sturdier, such as metal or precious gems. | Requires physical contact. |

Advanced Abilities

Breathe underwater | Lets the user breathe water instead of air without creating gills. Lasts between half an hour to two hours, depending on how much magical energy the person has. | |
Ice | Turn water into ice (without bodies of water around, uses water in the air for the ice). User will be able to control the shape of the ice and even hover it for a while before using it. | |
Ice Armor | Covers the whole body or parts of it in sturdy ice. The armor doesn't feel as cold for the user, but if the armor is given to anyone else, it will definitely feel chilly. | Does not require "Ice" to be learned first, but the Ice Armor can be manipulated with the "Ice" ability. |
Temperature control: cold | Controls the temperature around the user, making it feel either less or more cold. The temperature can't go above +5 celcius/41 degrees Fahrenheit. Also helps regulate the user's own body temperature, making them able to withstand cold atmosphere better or making them cooler in the warmer climates. | May make the user feel cold to touch. |
Create own moonlight | Create a beam of light that resembles the moonlight. Works especially well on monsters that are weak to the moon, but otherwise useful as a light source or as a way to blind enemies. | The source of the light beam is usually from users' hands. |
Manipulate darkness | User is able to manipulate darkness and shadows as an element. Very useful for obscuring enemies' vision, but can also be used as a physical attack. The shadows/darkness can be manipulated into physical objects, for example; as hands to grab things. Requires the presence of shadows or existing darkness. | Darkness and shadows are considered similar elements. Does not work on "Dark Energy" that's around the Segments. |
Shadow traveling | The ability to jump from one shadow to another, using them as a quick way to travel. User can remain in the shadows long enough to find the one they want to emerge from, no matter how small the shadow is. The longer the stay in the shadows the harder it will be to come back. | The act of jumping into a shadow is just simply stepping on a shadow and focusing. |
Spirit Exorcism | Help spirits and ghosts pass onto afterlife without needing a ritual that happens once a year. Malevolent spirits can be forced into moving on but friendly ones need to consent to being sent off. |

Create void pocket | Void pockets are a way to hide completely. No one can pick the characters' presence or scent through it. It feels like floating in dark space and lasts up to ten minutes. | |
Freeze movement | Keeps the target frozen to their spot as long as eye contact is kept. The target cannot even blink their eyes to escape the hold, but if the user blinks, the target may be able to escape. | |

Make plants grow/bloom faster | Help plants grow faster into their full glory. Seeds will turn into seedlings, seedlings into mature plants, flowers will bloom and so on. Multiple uses needed to bring a seed into a full grown plant with this ability. | Only makes tree leaves grow faster, not trees themselves. |
Purify liquids and air | Clear air and liquids of harmful essences, such as poisons, pollution and even pollen. Convenient for making any waterspot safe to drink from and the air easier to breathe in. | Does not remove salt from saltwater. |

Fast travel | Much like fast travel in MMO's - user just think of a place they've visited before and then they "jump" there from wherever they are. Create non-living things from paper | The user can create anything they set their minds to with paper. The bigger the thing they wish to make to more paper they need. This object cannot be alive or act as if it's alive, unless it's enhanced with magic. | Requires physical contact. |
Grow entire trees | Grow an entire tree from start to full growth as long as the user has a seed of the tree at ready. | Also works on acorns, nuts etc. |
Lift curses from others | The ability to heal someone who is cursed. Healing something more complex like a "werewolf curse" takes multiple (3) people of the same ability. | |
More advanced healing | The ability to heal even bigger wounds and injuries. The user is able to even heal fractures and broken bones and even most of internal damage when given time to do so. The ability to temporary null someone's pain also comes with this ability. | Can be used on themselves. |

These cosmetic changes are temporary and turn back to normal eventually. Only five different things can be changed at the same time. Telekinesis | The user can lift objects (or monsters, animals, people) in the air. The amount they can lift increases with how much magical energy they have. Multiple things can lifted at the same time but it's very taxing on the person doing so. |

Extend/Elastic limbs | The users' limbs are able to grow longer in size, making the feel almost like rubber. Does not damage the users muscles or bones as they will be protected by the magic. | Max. length five times the size of their normal limbs. |

Controlled Insomnia | Character is able to go on for days without sleeping with no consequences. The max. is 3 full days or 70 hours. | |
Telepathy with one person (one way) | A one way connection to another person's mind. Starts of as a very small distance, like across a standard size two-sided highway. With practice and with the character getting more magical energy reserves, the distance will grow. The maximum distance is around 3 miles / 2 kilometres. This is achieved at the earliest in three months - around the time characters start learning advanced skills. The use of magical energy says roughly the same no matter the distance. The user can also send "what they see" to others, but it takes more magical energy. | |

Wood/Metal manipulation | The ability to manipulate wood and metal into different shapes and use them as projectiles through air. Can be used to sharpen either into weapons or the other way around. | |

The astral projection can be seen by those who see spirits and ghosts, but not by anyone else. Dream Manipulation | The user is able to manipulate the dream of another and participate in it. | Requires physical contact. |
Hypnotic suggestion | The ability to make others do things for them by giving them small suggestions. If what the person is asked to do fights against all they believe in, they're less likely to obey the suggestion. The more vulnerable someone's mind is the easier it will be to use the ability on them. |
Animal Transformations
Each season has their own additional skill tree called Animal Transformations. This skill tree is something characters (or players) can opt out of or pick up at any point of the game. Each season has their own set of animals.
