Since Jade is swimming ahead of Frieda, chances are the giant tentacle will detect and hone in on him first! Having gotten injured the other month in the fight against the 'all-consuming darkness' in the abandoned mansion, he'll opt for a hasty retreat and, given his speed, hopefully succeed at that. He'll grab Frieda to pull along since he's a lot faster than her. Depending on how relentless the tentacle is in its pursuit, he'll send her ahead and hold it off, destroying part of the structure to block its path if need be and if possible.
