They can either go explore the rest of the clearing they're in, continue towards the other mountain (there are no caves visible - just a mountain to climb), go past the mountain into the Forest of Courage, where they can start hearing again after a while, or head east into the forest and back to the non-silent parts of the Segment.

Or go back where they came from, of course.
