There's a lot of clear skies in this part of the segments, so they can travel relatively dry. The same creatures still live in the water (except the giant plant they defeated last time has not made a return), but the trees have gotten a new creature:
Tree Mimics are creatures that appear to be a branch. If someone steps on a branch that's actually a mimic, it will come alive (gains stick bug-like legs) and try to throw the person into the waters below. They're ever so slightly darker than the rest of the tree usually is. You would think they're weak to fire since they look like branches, but instead they absorb fire and spit throws it back out. Instead they're weak to ice. They can't absorb ice.
Otherwise the route is very much the same, with the random empty treehouse that has somehow gained another batch of fruit seeds while they were gone.
The old man at the forest clearing will also remember them and greet them fondly.
