This slime is the rudest slime. It is their least favorite slime. Eren is Angry now. (That will be relevant in a moment.)
Through a combination of ODM gear + Eren's telekinesis shoving the hammer slightly off course, they manage to dodge the attack and get into another tree. Reiner ditches the pit-attempts and creates a wall instead, hoping to at least slow it down. (If the slime can't break through, Reiner will do more with that.)
Having realized that the slime is absorbing whatever they throw at it but that the fire did hurt it, Reiner tells Eren to ditch the crystal creation and try hitting it with just fire.
Eren, who is Pissed Off and therefore making very, very powerful fire, proceeds to do so. He creates another fire hammer (this one with no crystal) and slams it into the slime.
