It really does take a day to get through this hallway, but the scenery changes at the appr. halfway point to a more sandy cave aesthetic. Like they'd be approaching a desert...?

That's right, this hallway takes them straight to the Deserter's Desert. It's not the rumored ruins they'll find, but a small cave like place at the very west of the desert.
